System One is looking for an experienced Industrial Hygienist for a long-term DOE project in Carlsbad, NM.
Evaluating chemical or biological physical dangers like air quality, ergonomic challenges, dangerous sound levels and even productivity, through the establishment of and adherence to health and safety related regulations and protocols.
Analyze, identify, and measure workplace hazards or stresses that can cause sickness, impaired health, or significant discomfort in workers through chemical, physical, ergonomic, or biological exposures.
Conducts health program in industrial plant or governmental organization to recognize, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases:
Investigates adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions which may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency.
Conducts evaluations of exposure to ionizing and nonionizing radiation and to noise, and recommends measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
Prepares reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control and correction of hazards.
Participates in educational meetings to instruct employees in matters pertaining to occupational health and prevention of accidents.
Evaluates facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promotes maintenance of a sanitary working environment.

Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor’s or Associates degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or other related degree.
Years of experience: 2 – 4 years in construction, mining, facility maintenance, or industrial safety. CIH certification and DOE experience preferred.
