System One is looking for a Senior Safety professional with an electrical code background for a long-term DOE project in Carlsbad, NM.
The Senior Safety Professional is responsible for the creation, implementation and management of the site safety program. The senior safety professional will write the safety program and manual and will be responsible for the implementation and day-to-day management of the program.
In addition to the qualifications in the Statement of Work, the Senior Safety Professional (Electrical) should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E), OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910 and 29 CFR Part 1926 and MSHA 30 CFR Part 57. Previous mining and/or industrial electrical experience is required. Preference given to substantial experience in the electrical trade such as electrical inspector, journeyman electrician, master electrician, facility electrical engineer, or electrical contractor.
Development, creation and implementation of site safety program and manual
Reporting of safety requirements to site management
Reporting of safety requirements to federal regulators
Manage day to day safety operations of safety personnel
Ensure that safety program is current with federal regulations
Update and implement changes to safety program and manual
Manage project schedule and involved for safety personnel who perform safety functions on site
Conduct and develop Job Hazard Analysis and investigations – e.g., investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or other related degree.
Years of experience – 5 – 8 years in construction, mining, facility maintenance, or industrial safety.
CSP, ASP, or CHST certification.
DOE experience preferred.
