Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Heath/Environmental Technician opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM for the Los Alamos Facility

Technician 2: Education/Experience • Associates Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required. • Acquire and maintain Rad Worker II certification; able to acquire certification for use of full-face air purifying respirator. • 2-4 years related experience

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute tests on military protective apparel

• Duties and activities may include but are not limited to:

&#61607; escorting test subjects through the testing process

&#61607; cleaning test equipment and materials

&#61607; cleaning used protective equipment

&#61607; setting up sampling pumps and/or sampling equipment

&#61607; operate cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, laundering equipment, etc.)

&#61607; reviewing checklist during testing setup and turnaround and other duties as needed

• Wear personal protective equipment (tyvek, head covering, safety glasses, and/or dust mask) when serving as a test subject escort

• Review and understand all applicable safety documents Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience working in DOE Laboratory setting

• Proficiency with ArchInfo and ArchView – 3 years’ experience

• Proficiency with GPS equipment – 2 year experience

• Demonstrated ability to conduct ecological field surveys – 2 year experience

• Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing software (MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.)

• Strong oral and written communication skills; problem solving skills required

• Demonstrated ability to interact with staff and managers, in a team environment, and independently respond to special requests.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working at Los Alamos National Laboratory

• Demonstrated experience working under ISM/ISSM

• Ability to obtain a 'L' clearance

Assignment Type - Full Time

L Clearance Preferred

Q Clearance Preferred

Work Schedule 5/8 - NO DAY OFF
