Job Responsibilities:
As an agent, this position will coordinate with internal and external customers, including suppliers, to address sourcing needs. Activities may include analyzing and understanding company spend, assessing and mitigating contractual risk elements, monitoring market conditions, assisting internal customers with development of work scope, evaluating supplier proposals, understanding the needs of the customer and company in order to negotiate contracts effectively, developing positive relationships with internal and external customers, developing and maintaining an effective supplier base, and understanding legal documents and contracts. In addition, the position will prepare requests for proposals, purchase orders and other contracts, spread sheets, e-mails, and other written communications and documentation and will maintain files and records as needed. The position requires flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to learn new things. The incumbent may be required to work independently or on a team, and make presentations as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree and at least 2 years of experience in a business related field required
ERP system experience (prior PeopleSoft experience a plus)
Previous experience negotiating materials and services contracts
Team player with initiative and self-motivation
Strong analysis skills including experience with MS Office tools especially MS Excel
Communication skills with ability to interact with internal and external customers
