JOB TITLE: PACKAGING AND TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER

US Citizenship Required: Yes DUTIES

Provide Radioactive Waste Packaging and Transportation (P&T) staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary duties include development and review of implementing documentation; interfacing with the SRNL Packaging Technology & Transportation Engineering organization; and review of P&T packaging analysis for facility Safety Basis support.

Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelors degree in engineering and at least 15 years of work experience or 20 years of practical work experience.

Formal DOT/NRC Radioactive Waste Packaging, Transportation, and Disposal Training is preferred.

Experience/Skills:

Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 15 years P&T experience with DOT/NRC waste packaging, with a minimum of 10 years experience at one or more DOE facilities. Candidate must demonstrate experience with developing and/or reviewing P&T packaging analysis; P&T procedure development and review; knowledge of SARP/OSA requirements and implementation; interfacing between Design Agency and implementing facility.

Previous ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code experience and SRS Packaging and Transportation work experience preferred.

Work Hours:

A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Workweek excludes SRNS holidays. SRNS Management will determine best schedule depending on work needs. Each workday has a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Area Security Access: Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected

Uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance. Supplier shall possess an active Verification of FOCI that includes the candidate being submitted for this position. Telephone Number of Candidate Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years are preferred.
