Be available to Company Radiological Protection Program Manager as needed
Communicate with coworkers concerning change of work assignment
Report to the Radiological Protection Manager
Communicate regularly to Radiological Protection team on action items and controlled document revision status and any compliance issues.
Function in direct support of assessed organizations' or projects' radiological/ALARA performance Reports to Radiological Program Manager and ESH Manager
Delegate authority and responsibility to subordinate staff and others as appropriate.
In conjunction with other assigned project personnel, approve assessment findings and observations prior to issuance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Science, Health Physics or a closely related discipline or a demonstrated equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Experience: 4 years of related experience is required. NRRPT or Certified Health Physicist (CHP) preferred.
Assist company health physics personnel in identified tasks including: walk-down assessments, tracking, trending, reviewing corrective action plans and closures
A solid basic understanding of the Operation Radiation Protection Program.
Frequent use and general knowledge of project practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts and principles.
Under general supervision, independently performs most programs and activities that fall under the responsibility of a Health Physicist.
Performs health physics and radiological engineering, dosimetry, bioassay, independent oversight, and instrument functions to assure compliance with regulatory, contractual and company level requirements.
Ensures sound radiation protection practices are accomplished through incorporation of program requirements and ALARA throughout project work documents.
Updates and maintains the Radiological Control Program within the assigned area of responsibility and provides Health Physicist leadership to those preparing documents and procedures implementing these requirements.
Has solid basic knowledge in the principles of Radiation Protection.
Good interpersonal and communication skills needed to be able to communicate with personnel, management, and support organizations.
Minimum 6 months experience working in a Department of Energy Laboratory Accreditation Program (DOELAP) accredited dosimetry program. Familiarity with internal dosimetry protocols and experience with use of Integrated Modules for Bioassay Assessment (IMBA) computer code.
DOE L or Q Security Clearance or the ability to obtain the same. Successful completion of DOE Core Examination (Fundamental Academics) or NRRPT. Qualified as Senior RPT and capable of supervising the work of others.
