Project Assurance Auditor

This position is responsible for leading audits and/or surveillances to verify effective implementation of the Quality Assurance Program. Responsibilities include:

∑ Prepares audit checklists for quality assurance audits of project program/plans to assess performance to established criteria and implementation of the Quality Assurance Program.

∑ Leads and/or participates in audit and/or surveillance teams to ensure accurate, thorough, and timely completion of approved scope.

∑ Mentors associates and subject matter experts on the audit and/or surveillance process

∑ Documents the results of audits and surveillances in accordance with Quality Department procedures and the Corrective Action Program

∑ Plan and implement work independently, or with minimal supervision from the Site Quality Supervisor/Site Quality Manager, in the preparation, performance and documentation of audits, surveillances and other activities.

∑ Monitoring and reporting on the status of implementation of the Project Quality Management System and its effectiveness.

∑ Verification of materials, worksmanship, and specification/code requirements

∑ Identifying and recording quality problems, and have the necessary skills/ability to perform basic causal analysis of incidents in order to identify root cause and in particular have the ability to lead a small team in facilitating causal analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, and initiating or recommending solutions.

∑ Review and status subcontractor or supplier quality document submittals (Quality Plans, Test & Inspection Plans, procedures), to ensure effective controls are in place in key areas.

∑ Interface with management and Client personnel as needed during resolution of quality issues or during Client audits.

∑ Work closely with other groups and support timely reviews of documents or issues requiring Quality action.

∑ Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, team-work and customer satisfaction.

∑ Work with field engineers and supervision within assigned areas to mitigate and/or resolve any quality issues.

Basic Qualifications

∑ Bachelorís degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or quality assurance from an accredited university or college with six years of progressive experience in a field of Engineering, Environmental, Procurement, Construction, Testing, Operations, and/or Quality Assurance.

∑ Or in lieu of degree, a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in a field of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations or quality assurance.

∑ Identifying and recording quality problems, and have the necessary skills/ability to perform basic causal analysis of incidents in order to identify root cause and in particular have the ability to lead a small team in facilitating causal analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, and initiating or recommending solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

∑ Demonstrated ability with oral and written communications.

∑ Ability to use a computer and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

∑ Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.

∑ Ability to safely work at heights while using personal protective equipment, and walk across uneven and slippery surfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

∑ 10-15 years working in an operational or quality role in a military, nuclear, aerospace industry

∑ Working knowledge of, or experience with the review of specifications, drawings, material requisitions, services requisitions, purchase orders, subcontracts, and interfacing with suppliers.

∑ Specialized courses in engineering, technical or Quality Assurance disciplines.

∑ Knowledge of the application of corrective actions for Conditions Adverse to Quality.

∑ Knowledge of the application of nonconformance and deficiency reports for nonconforming or deficient items.

∑ Knowledge of regulatory requirements, nuclear safety culture, and functions that impact the Quality Assurance Program.
