As an Interconnection Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic initiative that will transform this utility’s power distribution system to support distributed generation connecting renewable energy sources (wind, solar, etc.) and natural gas. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Distributed Energy Resources. You will review all interconnection study protection design, communication and controls including protection calculations, settings, configurations and methods. You will provide technical guidance and support to various pilot projects relating to Distributed Energy Resources and Non-Wire Alternatives, including design, experimentation, implementation and testing of new methods and equipment in the lab and field.
The qualified candidate for Interconnection Engineer MUST have:
* Six (6)+ years of utility experience as an Engineer in the integration of generation, protection, and controls.
* Familiarity of protection theory for Distributed Energy Resources and Microgrids.
* Technical expertise with inverters and energy storage systems desired.
* BS Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
* Strong professional references.
