Provide engineering support for mechanical systems. Understanding the SRS Pressure Protection Program as implemented within Site Infrastructure. Provide verification/registration of vessels and relief valves. Verify parameters are accurate for relief valves released to the valve repair shop. Verify parameters are accurate for relief valves released to the valve repair shop. Identify system concepts and determine system functional and technical requirements. Monitor lifting performance, troubleshoot and resolve problems. Ensure operation within technical and safety basis requirements. Propose and develop improvements including system/equipment upgrades and plant modifications. As design authority, prepare modification input documents, provide technical input (e.g. for procedure development) and approve work packages. Engineering support services include engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Provide close out for Commitment Tracking System (CTS) items related to the valve repair shop. Create new CLI’s, create new PM’s, revise PM’s associated with vessels and relief valves.
Engineering Services will be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRS.
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10 years experience.
Candidate should have an understanding of ASME B30 code requirements. Ten years experience in mechanical systems in an industrial environment is preferred. Experience with OSHA/ANSI fall protection and system design is preferred. Experience with OSHA pressure protection requirements is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field. Experience with equipment systems in nuclear or hazardous environments preferred. Must be experienced with AssetSuite, SmartPlant and MS Office. Must be very familiar with SRS manuals (i.e., E7, 1Q, 1Y, 2S, and WSRC-TM-95-1).
SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.
Area Security Access:
A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining an L clearance if required to perform assigned duties.
