[Electrical Technician] Electrical Inspector

Note:
The inspectors shall have certifications through ICC (International Code Council) or approved equal qualifications.

Must be proficient in the International Building Code, 2015.

Must be proficient in the NFPA 70 National Electric Code, 2015.

Scope:

Works independently providing General and Electrical Quality Control inspection support ensuring compliance with company, regulatory and customer specific requirements.

Provides assistance to quality engineers during design reviews and inspection planning preparation.

Acts as a Quality Representative in the field and at vendor facilities as assigned.
Reviews work orders, drawings, and specifications and inspection plans.

Provides input to inspection planning as appropriate.

Provides inspection support during overtime activities, when requested.

Responsible for identification and reporting of inspection results or any identified hardware deficiencies per Los Alamos procedures.

Performs QC inspection hold points to support Supply chain receipt inspection as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

Journeyman Electrical License is REQUIRED.

Must have five (5) years’ experience in electrical inspections and possess a thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E construction codes.
Must have a competency level understanding of electrical testing methods, and reading and interpreting electrical drawings and other design output documents.
Must be able to qualify and certify as a general and electrical inspector in accordance with the company QA program and procedures for QC Inspector certifications. Current qualification must be maintained.

Position Responsibilities include:

Perform inspections and document results ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and work control documents.

Independently ensure work tasks are completed as assigned and initiate action without direction to resolve issues.

Provide support to Supply Chain Inspectors for receipt inspections of QC “HOLD” points, where required.

Review and provide input for inspection plans.

Assist quality engineering in the development of inspection plans.

Provide quality inspection input during pre-job briefings and post-job reviews.

Assist management with special tasks, as requested. Tasks may include mentoring inspection staff, providing expertise during project installation, and assisting in design reviews.

Training Qualifications:

Subcontractors shall meet the training requirements as outlined below.
