Project Engineer with solar plant experience needed for a 15 months+ temporary opening in Richmond, VA.
Extensive knowledge of engineering concepts, fundamentals and theory. Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills. Candidate must have the ability to apply sound engineering theories and concepts to complex problems. Candidate must have the ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices. Strong project management skills, reporting directly to the Project Manager. Extensive computer skills are required. Candidate must have the confidence and ability to represent the Company in public forums.
Bachelors degree (Engineering) required with a minimum of ten (10) years experience.
Provide engineering support for designated solar projects. This position serves as the primary interface between EPC contractor’s Engineer-of-Record, (internal) Engineering staff and the Owner’s Engineer, tracking the comment/review cycle for all RFI’s, Transmittals, Submittals, etc. throughout the course of the Project. Ensures project results meet contractual requirements regarding safety, environmental, quality, reliability, schedule and cost. Candidate may be asked to serve as the primary point-of-contact for all internal company stakeholders, including Energy Marketing, Transmission, Operations, Compliance, Regulatory, Media Relations, etc. Candidate may also serve as liaison between Project/Site Management team, Regulatory agencies, local officials, local landowners, etc.
Candidate will be required to review all EPC project correspondence, including daily/weekly/monthly report content and structure, to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Finally, candidate will develop and manage a project Action Item list up to acceptance of Substantial Completion.
