This position will serve the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX.

Position Overview:

Providing engineering support in Fire Protection Hazard Analysis along interpretation and implementation of NFPA codes are they key aspects of this highly engaged position.
Assist with or conduct Fire Protection Program assessments as necessary.
Perform facility Fire Protection assessments
Perform Fire Hazards Analysis (FHA), using the FHA application guide.
Perform Fire Protection Engineering Assessments (FPEAs) per referenced procedure.
Review and/or re-write existing Fire Protection Procedures as necessary.
Provide written fire protection opinions/interpretations on project issues that might arise during the subcontract.
Review and comment on design changes, including temporary modifications, and support resolution of design-related issues
Perform technical reviews of temporary modifications.
Provide input during the development of operating, maintenance, test plans and procedures.
Review design change packages to ensure that fire protection interactions with supporting systems are appropriately considered.
Review work packages as assigned for fire protection issues and compliance.
Develop design change notices (DCNs), Engineering Operability Evaluations (EOEs), Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) analysis, 5-year sprinkler inspection plans, other engineering calculations and/or analysis.
Develop arguments to support project or function Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) Determinations/Interpretations.
Develop project or function Fire Protection test plans for specific issues and program requirements.
Oversee and review assigned fire protection system Inspection, Test & Maintenance activities.
Track assigned fire protection system IT&M results on provided spreadsheets.

Minimum Qualifications:
Currently active DOE "Q" or "DOD" "Top Secret" clearance is required.
National Fire Protection Association Certification.
A degree in Fire Protection Engineering (desired) or BS in Engineering required.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant and diverse experience in fire protection is required.
Experience working in a nuclear facility is desired.
