Engineering Support- Richland, WA
DESCRIPTION OF WORK – SPECIFIC
The scope of work includes a wide range of potential activities to support execution of engineering work products:
Develop engineering studies and alternatives analyses; new and revised design media; functional requirements and design criteria documents; pre-conceptual and conceptual designs/concept sketches; procurement and construction specifications; test plans; input for maintenance procedures and other engineering documentation.
Assist in developing statements of work and specifications for detailed engineering designs.
Perform development or technical review of design packages and calculations.
Assist in developing and maintain project schedules for engineering deliverables (including tracking and providing status).
Oversee design subcontractors and construction subcontractors for compliance with project technical requirements.
Manage and track project-related documentation (requests for information, engineering change packages, change orders, etc.).
Provide Engineering representation and support during construction including field walk-downs, issue resolution, and design changes.
Assist with as-constructed record documents and project closeout.
Interface with internal and external customers and end-users.
Be the primary technical point-of-contact (liaison) between the project team and the subject matter experts.
Effectively communicate between engineering, technical, construction, and project controls groups.
Complete engineering training and qualifications for assigned position within the Engineering organization.
Perform other engineering-related activities as directed or assigned by reporting manager
Required qualifications necessary are:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (e.g., mechanical, civil, electrical, etc.).
Minimum 5 years’ engineering experience. Years of experience will be measured from receipt of Engineering degree.
Proficient in productivity software used to conduct business (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired qualifications include:
Current Washington State Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
Current Project Management Professional (PMP) credential.
Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE-7, AWWA, NFPA, ANSI, etc.).
