Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior CAD Designer opportunity at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, TN. This position requires a high level of proficiency in PTC Creo software.
Staff will be working withing the Fusion Energy Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and have a role in the design and construction of the Materials Plasma Exposure eXperiment (MPEX), a new facility for understanding plasma-material interactions for next-step fusion devices. The MPEX project is a DOE Order 413.3b funded project. In addition, staff will have the opportunity to work in the development of components for various projects for major international fusion experimental facilities in support of ongoing science and technology research for the Fusion Energy Sciences Program in the U.S. DOE Office of Science.
Senior CAD Designer Qualifications:
• A two-year Associates Degree with 10+ years relevant experience or high school diploma with 12+ years relevant experience is required.
• A high level of proficiency in PTC Creo is required.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes and design for manufacturability is strongly desired. Experience in the design of components related to scientific experiments, diagnostics, cryogenics, piping, vacuum and radiation environments is preferred.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
