SHINE is currently seeking a Machinist to operate machining tools to produce precision metallic and nonmetallic parts pertinent to the manufacturing demands within SHINE Building One.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Frequently work with personnel to satisfy machining needs from planning and fabrication through assembly.
Machine components to precise specifications and tight tolerances using a manual milling machine, lathe, and various other machine tools.
Provide exceptional TIG welding to stainless steel and aluminum components and assemblies.
Prepare working drawings using SOLIDWORKS or other 3D modeling software.
Maintain a thorough knowledge in the machining of various materials.
Maintain a clean and strictly organized work area.
Maintain all machining equipment and tooling.
Fabricate and modify components for the repair or maintenance of machine tooling and equipment.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Associate’s degree from two-year college or technical school and two years’ experience operating manual mills and lathes.
Previous experience operating conventional CNC machines.
Experienced TIG welder.
Strong PC skills to include 3D modeling software.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
