Talascend is currently seeking a Nuclear QA Auditor for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in Newport, Michigan.
Performs independent external Audits, and Surveys of suppliers to verify implementation of their Quality Assurance Program meets regulatory requirements (10CFR50 Appendix B and ANSI N45.2).
Reviews documents, prepares checklists and agendas for audits, performs audits, conducts pre and post audit debriefs, and prepares final audit report.
Documents deficiencies, and verifies that corrective actions are implemented by the supplier.
Leads or participates in joint utility audits under the NUPIC Process.
Maintains the status of assigned suppliers, and is responsible for monitoring their performance and updating the Approved Supplier List to support station safety related procurements.
Performs surveillances, special assessments, and other assignments as directed by supervision.
Assists the Principal Supervisor, Nuclear Quality Assurance (Audits) in the implementation of the Quality Assurance / Supplier Audits program.
Become Lead Auditor certified (ANSI N45.2.23, 1978), and lead / assist audit teams who assess quality program activities of suppliers.
Participates in peer evaluations at other utilities.
Evaluates the quality of implementation of technical programs, the effectiveness of corrective actions, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Coordinates with other utilities to optimize use of our client's resources in the vendor assessment area.
Assists in the maintenance of the Approved Supplier List and maintains an accurate status of assigned suppliers.
Writes various management reports based on results of audit, surveillance or assessment activities.
Must demonstrate knowledge of 10CFR50 Appendix B requirements.
Current or prior ANSI N45.2.23 Lead Auditor Certification.
Prior nuclear plant line organization experience in operations, engineering, maintenance, or radiation protection is strongly desired.
Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
Makes decisions systematically, can make decisions under pressure, builds a consensus, can make difficult/unpopular decisions, and considers impact of decisions.
Must be able to pass all phases of In-Processing including a background investigation, psychological screening, orientation, radiation worker/respiratory training and be medically certifiable (drug and alcohol screen).
Must be able to meet all travel requirements.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree or SRO license/certification plus 3 years commercial nuclear power plant experience, or completion of an Associate's Degree plus 5 years commercial nuclear power plant experience, or High School Graduate plus 9 years commercial nuclear power plant experience or equivalent experience.
