GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Fire Protection Technician to impact and contribute to the success of federal projects near Carlsbad, NM. The preferred candidate has DOE experience, sound technical communication abilities, and the ability to work as partners with varying engineering facets and in an industrial/construction site environment.
Provide continuity in guidance and oversight to the current Fire Protection Engineering and support staff.
Help in troubleshooting existing impairments, system tests and walkdowns/inspections.
Evaluation of the existing fire protection program elements and implementation procedures including fire protection systems (suppression, detection, and water supply).
Maintain compliance with NFPA codes, DOE requirements and any additional regulatory requirements.
10+ years of DOE Fire Protection Program experience.
Fire Protection Technology Certificate, required.
NICET Certification, required.
Bachelorís degree, preferred.
Significant experience in lieu of education can be considered.
Understanding of fire principles, concepts, and microcomputer applications.
Ability to deliver oral presentations to convey technical findings and recommendations.
Ability to write clear, concise, and organized memos and reports.
Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
