SHINE is immediately seeking a Procurement Specialist to provide support to the Procurement team focused on construction related procurements. This position ensures timely acquisitions of products or services from known vendors. The Procurement Specialist will support the varied daily activities to allow for more efficiency and better output at the direction of the Procurement Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage all processes for construction-related procurements, including initial drafting scope of services required, internal stakeholder engagement, procurement, and vendor management
Performs price estimate comparisons by reading design drawings and design specifications and producing independent cost take-off analyses.
Facilitates resolution of issues by arranging and participating in conferences between vendors and company personnel
Assists in the evaluation process through the distribution of quotations, preparation of the commercial portion of the bid tabulation, and collaboration with engineering and construction regarding the technical and constructability evaluations.
Manages the award, conforming, and receiving process.
Able to resolve simple claim or dispute events with vendors. May be responsible for soliciting budgetary pricing for equipment, material, or labor to support estimating/proposal efforts for a non-major project or projects.
Establish effective communications, good relations, and positive images with vendors, promoting courtesy, objectivity, and fairness.
Proficient in the basic functions of the vendor database.
Files appropriate record documents and follows Corporate and project filing rules.
May provide input to portions of new and/or revised procedures or documents. Individual contributor with no subordinates.
Associate degree in engineering, supply chain or other technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and/or years of experience preferred
A minimum of five (5) years of related work experience
Nuclear Industry or DOE procurement relative to NQA-1 requirements (preferred)
Knowledge of the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products
Ability to work in a team environment and to take directions as well as think independently
Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Support construction-related procurement needs. Complete scope documents, manage process flow of procurement contracts, vendor management
