GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking Electrical Engineer to support a federal site near Piketon, OH.
Develop and provide system modification designs and design review(s) for new and existing electrical systems.
Perform and interpret arc flash calculations utilizing modeling software.
Plan and implement engineering design projects for nuclear facilities and work within multidiscipline, integrated project teams to complete design projects.
Perform electrical safety evaluations for new and legacy systems.
Oversee modifications of existing electrical systems.
Perform field inspections and walk-downs to ensure system operability.
Provide configuration management support of nuclear facility safety systems for operations, including coordination of post maintenance testing and other system maintenance requirements.
Implement nuclear facility authorization basis documents, including performance of all required system inspections and surveillances.
Provide operations with Conduct of Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations technical baseline support.
Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on electrical systems.
Apply engineering and maintenance codes and requirements to all work.
Bachelorís Degree in an engineering field from an ABET accredited program and 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
PE license, preferred.
Knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and concepts necessary to complete work.
Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and other similar national consensus standards is desired.
Knowledge of and ability to apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines as required.
Communicate effectively with a design team, management, coworkers, and clients.
Experience supporting federal sites highly preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued security clearance, if necessary.
Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
