Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records for the purpose of giving advice or preparing statements and installing or advising on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data (business managers, financial analysts, finance auditors, budget analysts).
 Monitor and maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, company and department procedures, contractual obligations, and adopted cost accounting standards.
 Perform complex accounting tasks related to various functions including accounts payable, general ledger, travel, and payroll.
 Independently review contracts, orders, vouchers, and other agreements to substantiate individual transactions.
Coordinate and oversee various projects within the department which may include supervising others and organizing various tasks.
 Implement changes and complete assignments in accordance with the working schedule.
 Work with various auditors and reviewers to support requests.
 Assist in maintaining adherence to internal controls, policies and procedures; manage operational data and maintain accuracy and integrity.
 Review and/or audit payroll and benefits.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
 Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment.
 Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
 Expert knowledge and ability to develop and apply highly advanced principles, concepts and techniques in the field of accounting.
 Skill and ability to perform critical strategic tasks and interpret broad requirements to develop and execute plans to satisfy them.
 Ability to communicate at all levels and contribute functional expertise to business initiatives.
 Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity with extensive latitude for independent judgment.  Experience in payroll operations and benefits accounting administration.
Accountant 3 Education Required:
Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or equivalent, and at least 5 years of related financial experience. Government related financial experience, including Cost Accounting Standards.
Accountant 4 Education Required:
Bachelors' degree in Accounting or equivalent, and at least 10 years of related financial experience. Government related financial experience, including Cost Accounting Standards and FAR/DFARs knowledge, preferred.
Accountant 5 Education Required:
Bachelors' degree in Accounting or equivalent, and at least 15 years of related financial experience. Government related financial experience, including Cost Accounting Standards and FAR/DFARs knowledge, preferred.
