Summary
Assists in coordinating fire protection engineering elements of the Laboratory fire protection program, and in the operation of fire protection surveillance and alarm systems operations in compliance with current codes and standards, DOE orders, and best industry practice. Specific duties may include performing fire protection engineering duties under the supervision of the fire protection group leader and/or senior fire protection staff, conducting facility surveillance assessment, assisting with site-wide fire alarm operations, or reviewing authorization basis documents relating to fire protection. Assists in researching information for fire protection, and code compliance related activities.
NOTE: This function represents a fire protection engineer and is primarily concerned with engineering aspects related to fire protection, life safety, property loss prevention, and activities relating to the design, review and installation of fire alarm and fire suppression systems. Education
Position typically requires a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
