Talascend is currently seeking an I&C Superintendent for a contract opportunity located in Waynesboro, GA.

OVERVIEW:

The I&C Superintendent is responsible for the technical oversight of all instrumentation activities on the project. The selected applicant shall provide direction to instrumentation field engineering in support of the superintendents responsible for executing the instrumentation construction work.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for field construction operations within instrumentation site wide. Safely directs assigned construction work in accordance with the safety program.
Recommends manual staffing requirements for instrumentation scope of work. Coordinates established area operational plans. Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. Monitors work activities, ensures the quality of work performed.
Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Confirms correctness of charge codes and hours entered and approves craft time records using established automated tools.
Completes instrumentation planning, provides schedule input and implements proper construction methods and procedures.
Supervises and directs craftsmen in construction activities within assigned area.
Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
Assists Project Controls Engineer with generating formal estimates, scheduling, and planning as assigned.
Monitors tool usage on the site. Ensures Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables are completed to ensure that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
Assesses needs and identifies craft training requirements. Ensures craftsmen are trained to perform the work assigned.
Monitors job site work rule compliance.
Ensures that all client, State and Federal safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied within assigned area of responsibility.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of a single or multidiscipline construction operation.
On a large job, schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within a single area. On a small to medium job, coordinates and directs multi-discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts of a single discipline covering all areas of the project.
Working knowledge of unionized labor.
Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. General awareness of environmental laws.
Knowledge of government compliance standards.
Knowledge of our client's Zero Accident” safety program.
Knowledge of manual craft timekeeping, word processing, spreadsheet and other standard applications in accordance with current the Standard Application Program standards.
Knowledge of project and the client's Quality Assurance program.
Knowledge of local labor laws and issues.
Knowledge of state, federal and local contracting requirements.
Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors.
Familiar with Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs), Nuclear Work Process Procedures (NWPPs), and/or Nuclear Operating Plant Work Process Procedures (PWPPs).
Knowledge of safety procedures, engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
Knowledge of national and international safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies’ processes and responsibilities, industry standards/practices for safety and health compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential safety risks during project execution.
Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes.
Knowledge of construction planning, estimating, procedures, and execution.
Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of safety and/or health subcontractors or consultants.
Experience in safety inspections/assessments during construction.
Knowledge of hazardous materials and physical risk exposures and Personal Protective Equipment standards as well as People Based Safety processes and procedures.
Advanced knowledge in a field of science, process engineering, or related discipline.
Skilled in oral and written communication.
Prior practical work experience in office settings (e.g., managing safety and health programs, budgets, and staff) and field locations (e.g., construction execution and/or operating facilities) performing the responsibilities listed above.
