We are looking for qualified candidates to perform the following:
For the Whiteshell Laboratories (WL) Standpipe and Bunker Waste Retrieval System (SBWRS) Project there will be a need for Procedure Writers. These Procedure Writers will be assigned to specific systems to work with the Subject Matter Experts (SME) for equipment operations and maintenance. The primary purpose of the Procedure Writer is to provide dedicated maintenance and operational support for the respective piece of SBWRS equipment. It is intended for the assigned to potentially follow the respective SBWRS system through its life cycle in the Toronto Project Management Office (final design, fabrication, testing, commissioning). These positions are four (4) to 12 month positions to be performed remotely to support the PMO SBWRS Project team located in Toronto area near Cambridge where fabrication and commissioning is performed.
•The Procedure Writer is required to have an Engineering Degree (Canada or US) with an optional Engineering license (Canada or US) or 10 years of technical experience with increase responsibility in across the develop of programs and procedures for manufactured equipment.
•The Procedure Writer is required to have a minimum 5- years’ experience in the nuclear decommissioning area, experience in commercial nuclear power plants or large industry where specialized equipment is in use.
•The Procedure Writer is preferred to have previous equipment design and/or fabrication experience.
•The Procedure Writer is preferred to have previous experience with radioactive waste handling equipment, and remote operated equipment.
•The Procedure Writer is preferred to have project engineering or system engineering experience.
•The Procedure Writer will serve as the Operational Procedures and Maintenance SME for their respective SBWRP System.
•Ability to perform a procedure needs assessment, understanding and applying subsystem component details that need procedures, and developing procedure scope and objectives.
•The Procedure Writer must be able to articulate design parameters into operational procedures, and provide operational oversight to ensure equipment is operated and maintained within those parameters.
•Ability to validate procedures against scope, safety requirements, field equipment, working environment, activities, and objectives.
•Promptly revise procedures using validation feedback and seek procedure approvals.
•The Procedure Writer should be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Practical and some fundamental knowledge of engineering application to robotic and automation systems, and techniques and applications in field of nuclear material management. Knowledge of Canadian regulation and standards and First of a Kind Equipment (FOAKE) applications preferred.
