Supports software applications and systems by investigating, designing, documenting and implementing new hardware and software. Works with customers and end users to understand requirements, coordinate resources, monitor timeline, and plan, track, and execute project plan. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates work processes. Prepares concepts for information system solutions and evaluates the cost-effectiveness of these concepts.

A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of a specialized information technology (IT) field plus working knowledge of other related IT fields. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, IT professional position. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives. Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments. Work is evaluated upon completion. May provide limited technical direction and/or coordinate activities of other personnel. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Determines approach to solutions, plans schedule and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.

LANL is looking for a full stack software developer to join our Environmental, Safety, Health, Quality Security and Visualization Solutions Group (SAE-1) in support of the Waste Compliance and Tracking System (WCATS) application.

Working alongside some of the brightest minds, you will join the Waste Compliance and Tracking System (WCATS) agile software development team within the Environmental, Safety, Health, Quality Security and Visualization Solutions Group (SAE-1). You will be developing and implementing new functionality in support of modernizing our essential application that manages waste operations from cradle to grave. The candidate must have software development experience, organization skills, and the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate should also have a strong desire to learn new technologies, business processes, to become an expert in their field, and the willingness and confidence to develop safety-class, mission-critical software.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Software: Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), preferably Java. Experience with JavaScript framework, such as Vue.js, AngularJS, React. Experience with Java-based framework using Spring or similar. Experience working with and utilizing relational and non-relational Databases. Knowledge of software testing methodologies. Version control system experience with Git/Gitlab or similar. Familiar with build automation tools.

Agile Methodology: Experience using agile practices and principles, and experience utilizing Scrum or Kanban. Knowledge of collaboration software such as Jira/Confluence or similar tools.

Clearance: Not required

Education/Experience: This position requires a relevant bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years related experience, or equivalent experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Familiar creating and working with reports using FOP or similar
Experience utilizing tools such as Jira and/or Confluence
Experience working with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Experience using automated functional testing tools like Cypress.io or JUnit.
