Duties and Responsibilities
Provide Senior Fellow Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer for staff augmentation support to Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) Surplus Plutonium Disposition (SPD) Program. Primary responsibilities include:
• Perform technical review of documents including SPD Facility Design Description, Glovebox System Design Description, Glovebox Functional Acceptance Criteria, Glovebox Drawings, Glovebox Ergonomics Study, etc.
• Evaluate SPD glovebox design to ensure completeness and adequacy in accordance with national guidelines and glovebox program at the Savannah River Site (SRS).
• Resolve on-going technical issues during glovebox procurement, installation, testing and startup.
• Coach and mentor SPD Design Authority staff as necessary during the design, fabrication, installation, testing and startup of SPD gloveboxes.
Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.
A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
BS Degree in mechanical engineering or Professional Engineer’s License in Mechanical Engineering
