Job Description:

Our team is seeking a highly motivated Electronics Engineer to aid the research and development of RF systems which incorporates systems conceptualization, design of custom electronics boards, overseeing the manufacturing of boards, RF design, system design, integration, and testing of electronic components both in the laboratory environment and field tests. Electronic components must meet SWAP and environmental constraints to meet customer needs.

Your primary focus will be the design and development of advanced RF communications systems for National Security applications. You will become a member of a multi-discipline, success-oriented high-performance team. Projects range from urgent, quick-reaction requests in response to urgent real-world driven needs to longer-term 3-5 year efforts. Our advanced communication systems generally include both customer and COTS sub-components which are highly optimized for Size, Weight, and Power Subcomponents include groundbreaking signal processing transceivers, antennas, GPUs, FPGA & SDRs which are commanded by a combination of customized embedded FPGA firmware and CPU related software (operating system, inter-process communications, GNU radio modules, Web-based Javascript UI, etc). We emphasize developing a handful of units to meet urgent needs or prove the state of the art and work to transition production to external industry partners.

This position requires on-site work in a collaborative electronics laboratory environment using iterative/agile methods to develop capabilities and requires occasional travel of 3-4 trips per year.

On any given day you may be called on to:

Development of custom FPGA firmware or modification/troubleshooting of existing firmware interfaces to meet needs
Research into the latest COTS and/or custom SDR/FPGA solutions and integration into our systems
Participate in research, development, analysis, and/or field testing of RF systems as embedded software subject matter expert
Interact with customers & stakeholders on system conceptualization and design

Qualifications We Require:
A Masterís degree in a relevant STEM field or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job

Qualifications We Desire:
You possess embedded software and/or firmware development skills
Experience in logic verification, preferably System Verilog/UVM
Experience with FPGA design tools (Xilinx Vivado, SynplifyPro, etc)
Experience with firmware DSP implementation and validation
Experience in taking an FPGA design to hardware and/or ASIC and utilizing the full array of debugging tools (embedded and bench logic analyzer, O-scope, etc)
Experience in software DSP implementation
Experience in low-level device driver development and interfacing with hardware
Experience with Software Defined Radios and integrated FPGAs
Ability to work on-site in a lab environment with a small multi-disciplinary team
An active DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI-level clearance, which may require a polygraph test
