HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities.
We are looking for two Quality Engineers to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for, Quality Assurance with the Savannah River Site (SRS). This support is in the form of administrative and technical expertise in the areas of quality assurance, quality control, review, planning, and implementation of quality requirements. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Candidate shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.
Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements for the nuclear industry and general industrial practices. Develop and revise Quality procedures in accordance with SRNS requirements, applicable standards (e.g., NQA-1-2019), and government regulations. Works with both Quality, Engineering, Construction and Operations Departments to create, revise and approve documents to be used for the fabrication and installation of commodities.
Candidate shall be responsible for the management and execution of assigned programs/projects in accordance with the requirements of SRNS, and the operating policies and principles. The Candidate is accountable for the execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and required specifications for the project.
One(1) 1-year base period with two(2) 1-year option periods 2000 hr ST / 500 hr OT.
Required Qualifications :
PhD or master's degree with specialized technical training or bachelor's degree with extensive, highly specialized training.
Minimum 15 years supporting commercial or federal science, nuclear engineering or other task relevant programs or projects; typically, 10 or more years in a management role.
Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
Review and comment on selected engineering and procurement documents to ensure the inclusion of applicable technical and quality requirements.
Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment.
Ensure nuclear Commercial Grade Dedication requirements are applied to material dedications for use in safety applications when applicable during field inspections.
Develop/Revise Quality procedures in accordance with customer requirements, applicable standards (e.g., NQA-1-2019), and government regulations
Review/Approve, Design Output Documents, Work Instructions (Work Packages), and Nonconformance Reports.
Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans such as electrical, mechanical, welding, piping, civil, structural, pressure testing, etc., in accordance with Design Output, Codes, and Standards. Experience with multiple disciples is preferred but not required.
Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans.
Document inspection results on applicable Inspection Records and issue Non-conformance reports as required.
Desire to cross-train in performing Assessments, Surveillances and Audits.
An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance.
