Looking For Labor Relations Manager

We are looking for a Labor Relations Manager.

Position Overview:

Serves as chief spokesperson in negotiations with craft labor unions that represent employees of the company. Acts as the liaison between the International Labor Organizations and the client.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Support and representation in administrative proceedings, grievances, and
arbitrations
• Advise management regarding labor and employment laws and personnel matters
• Participating in the development and/or presentation of training materials
related to union employee policies
• Responsible to review all the Company HSE Program procedures for compliance
with the Client’s Labor Agreement contractual terms and working conditions
• The Companies executor and administrator of the Collective Bargaining
Agreements (CBA)
• Single point of contact for the craft agreement interpretations
• Craft negotiations/ strategy meetings, etc.
• Presents ideas and recommendations for performance and productivity
improvements involving craft
• Implementing cadre work force and optimizing recall rights
• Seeking opportunities to invoke mobility and resource pooling appendices within
CBA
• Observing craft productivity and trends at outage and non-outage sites
• The Company’s representative with Client Labor Relations representatives and
arbitrators
• The Company’s senior representative for labor relations and contract labor
• Labor contracts and craft jurisdictions
• Developing standard and consistent presentations for issues dealing with craft
• Attending site pre-job brief with craft as the senior labor representative
• Playing a lead role with the Site Manager during the session by introducing the
common/standard aspects of the Company interface with and control of craft
• Monitoring and assisting Site Managers in consistent outage work presentation
• Keeping records of meetings for reference and future clarifications
• Working with the Site Manager to record and respond to questions raised and to
distribute to remaining sites to build a consistent and accurate knowledge
basis of craft issues
• Supporting the ED during outage season by visiting sites and observing
implementation and execution
• Providing support as called upon during outage situations
• Coordinating approval of assignment of work to other craft if jurisdictional
craft has shortage
• Coordinating hiring of additional craft with International Union
Representatives if a shortage of craft exists to fill the hiring call

Required Qualifications:

• Accredited four (4) year degree or equivalent in applicable field of study and
ten (10) years of craft labor relations experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include, but are not
limited to, management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors and other
stakeholders
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province and
federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to complete detail work in a time-conscious and time effective manner
• Excellent communication skills

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
• Experience with budgetary and functional strategic objective responsibilities
• Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting
priorities and deadlines
• Self-starting, team worker with result orientated attitude, work well under
time limitations
• Experience working closely with operational management
• Experience in development/implantation of policies, procedures and methods
• Demonstrated ability to be discreet with confidential company and employee
information
• Intermediate to advance knowledge of cultures and cross-cultural collaboration
• Exhibit team orientation and positive relationships with all levels of
employees
• Ability to build trusting relationships, gain credibility and partner with
leaders, peers and employees
• Strategic business sense and organizational savvy
• Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills
• Effective presentation skills including public speaking and excellent written
and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated high level of interpretive thinking, mature judgement, problem
solving and conflict resolution skills with the ability to provide high quality
independent analysis, conclusions and recommendations

• Overtime and non-standard work hours as required
• Extended periods of sitting
• May require wearing personal protective safety equipment
• Lift, carry, position and/or equipment (weighing up to 25 lbs.)
