Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Civil Project Engineer in Idaho Falls, ID.

This position is responsible for performing the function of a Civil/Structural project and system engineer for the spent nuclear fuels staging facility project.

Position Responsibilities:

Define requirements and develop design concepts:

-Communicate with customer (construction, operations, maintenance, systems engineers, subcontractors, etc.) to ensure requirements are understood and met via design output
-Identify design change impact to interfacing systems
-Identify applicable codes, standards, regulations, and procedures
-Understand and research existing systems
-Research applicable INL/DOE or industrial experience
-Research vendor literature

Initiate, author and coordinate the approval of technical project support document(s) (i.e SOW, SPEC, etc.):

Identify whether and what type of project documentation is required
-Develop documents according to corresponding procedures
-Negotiate document development schedules
-Determine design execution strategies to meet schedule and project objectives
-Initiate procurements and provide procurement technical support

Perform design verification of systems, structures, and components designed:

-Participate in design verification planning and make design inputs and outputs available for design verification
-Direct execution of design reviews
-Coordinate preparation of responses to design review action items
-Assist the Area/Project Chief Engineer in selection of design verification method
-Participate as a design reviewer and complete assigned action items
-Control documentation of design verification

Perform other system engineering duties as assigned

Bachelorís degree in civil engineering with 5 years job related experience, 1 year nuclear experience.

Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
