JOB GRADE T3-T4 PAY $20.36-$45.83
***NO PER DIEM / TRAVEL AUTHORIZED***
Complete engineering design products and prepares assembly and detail drawings, following the general instructions and directions of an engineer/designer. Develops various calculations such as circuit breaker and fuse sizing, cable size, conduit size, conduit fill and lighting levels, frequently using charts and tables. Prepares bills of material and specifications. Reports to the Manager, Central Engineering.
Prepares single line diagrams, control wiring diagrams and cable/conduit lists.
Prepares P&IDs, process and pneumatic tubing drawings, instrument installation details.
Prepares layouts, and detail drawings for electrical distribution to new or improved process equipment.
Prepares initial drawings and monitors construction results.
Provides construction support and completes field walk-downs
Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate constructions.
Provides information when required for cost estimating, such as layouts and processing sketches.
Prepares presentation graphics/materials as required.
Assists in the follow-up of prototype construction with outside vendors.
Secures quotations and expedites materials and delivery.

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education: Associates degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE/RESPONSIBILITIES GRADE T3:
Experience: 2+ years of experience. Capability with 2D plant design is recommended.
Level Specific Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, completes design assignments of limited complexity.
Applies a basic level of understanding within a specific discipline.
Familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
Familiar with the process of preparing designs and
drawings using project specifications and discipline- associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Basic understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents as reference for assigned tasks.
Can assist in performing material take-offs for the discipline.
EXPERIENCE/RESPONSIBILITIES GRADE T4:
Experience: 4+ years of experience.
Capability with 2D and/or 3D plant design is recommended.
Level Specific Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, completes design assignments of moderate complexity.
Applies an intermediate level of understanding within a specific discipline.
Familiar with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
Familiar with the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline- associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Understands the purpose of vendor documents and uses them as a reference for assigned tasks.
Basic knowledge of the use of requisitions and the role of materials management.
Basic knowledge of the process of performing material take-offs for the discipline.
Basic understanding of the disciplines equipment and material lists.
Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate Department of Energy (DOE) credentials.
Preferred experience at a DEO nuclear facility. Construction, startup, and operation experience is a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and with all levels of management, site personnel, and our client.
Intermediate IT knowledge Must possess significant functionals computer skills including use of mainstream business software including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Adobe Professional, and Internet navigation.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
