Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Personnel Security Support Specialist opportunities for our customer in Carlsbad, NM to support the DOE’s Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Project.

Per diem is available for those who qualify.

Number of Positions: up to 3
Clearance Requirement: Active DOE Q or recently active DOE Q desired. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
Location: Work will be performed at the WIPP Site, located 26 miles southeast of Carlsbad, NM
Schedule: 4/10s, Monday – Thursday, 6am-4pm

Job Description:

The Personnel Security Program Support Specialist will provide programmatic support to the Personnel Security department to include oversight of the HSPD-12 badging program, the LSSO badging program, outgoing classified visits, and Unclassified Foreign Visits and Assignments. Additionally, this position will support ongoing continuous improvement activities to address identified shortcomings in internal processes/requirements. This effort may include a review of current policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current DOE Orders.

Job Duties:

Perform actions required of the HSPD-12 Program Administrator.
Facilitate the handling of Unclassified Foreign National Access requests in accordance with 142.3b, chg. 1.
Perform an independent assessment of all PERSEC policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DOE Orders.
Tier-1 backgrounds; review electronic Questionnaires for Investigative Processing (eQIP) applications prior to release to Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency (DCSA), review FBI fingerprint returns and final Tier-1 backgrounds for Federal adjudication.
Provide information for Quarterly Deliverable Reports.
Process requests for security clearance extension, upgrades or terminations.
Site accountability-muster reports.
Data entry for Access and Accountability Software Programs.
Assist with the accountability of security badges.
Provide additional support and guidance, as needed, to the dedicated PERSEC team.
Qualifications:

DOE or DOD Security Experience and Personnel Security experience
