Advanced Reactor Fuel Modeling Engineer
Duration: 6 months, estimated
Location: Remote
Start Date: January 2023 or sooner

Seeking in-depth knowledge and experience in nuclear reactor physics methods, analysis, and design. The successful candidate will be part of the technology innovation team responsible for development of advanced core analysis methodology for advanced reactors, including space applications.

Day to Day Duties :
Develop fuel performance models, methods, and codes for current LWR (Light Water Reactor) fuel, accident tolerant fuel, and innovative fuel for new reactor designs,
Applying fuel performance codes and methods for existing and new fuel and cladding materials,
Be part of the multi-discipline team on development of multi-physics code system and analysis methods,
Support regulatory reviews and approvals of technical products and services,

M.S. or PhD in engineering (nuclear, materials, or mechanical), and advanced post-graduate degree preferred
5+ years in nuclear fuel performance research, development, design or analysis
Knowledge and experience with fuel performance codes (such as FRAPCON/FRAPTRAN, FAST, or BISON), BISON knowledge is preferred
Strong communication and teamwork abilities and skills
