Job Description

Our company is looking for an Mechanical engineer to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for locating, marking, and documenting underground utility lines. The majority of the work being performed will be in the field and require strong research skills in order to find various utilities efficiently. Direct experience with utilities, located above ground and underground, is preferable, but not mandatory for this position. The chosen candidate will work in parallel with a utility locating company that will be performing the positive identification portion of the work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other qualifying accredited program
Proven working experience in mechanical engineering
Ability to read mechanical single-line diagrams and associated drawings
Proficient in the the comprehension of facility mechanical systems
Working production software skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD
Ability to maintain and update current as-built drawing database
Work in compliance with company policies and procedures

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
Utility or surveying experience
Experience working on federal projects
Ability to communicate project status to various internal and external parties
Strong research skills
Strong communication skills
Work collaboratively with project teams
