SAFEGUARDS AND SECURITY ENGINEER
US Citizenship Required - 3 positions
SRNS @ SRS, Aiken, SC
RFQ# 647197 / contract: 1 year with 2 option years / Deadline 12/12/2022
Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development, and generation of design output documents for the following types of systems/facilities: intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, fiber optic cable, force protection, perimeter security, alarm monitoring, control stations, and entry control facilities.
Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. SRNS will provide programmatic guidance.
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering. Will consider five years of related design experience (in addition to the required seven years of Safeguards and Security design experience) as equivalent to the education or registration requirements.
Knowledge in the application of NEC code requirements
Seven years of Safeguards and Security design experience with recent, within the last five (5) years, significant physical security design experience
Knowledge of the technical, physical, and operational aspects of standard physical security system components such as sensors, door hardware, cameras, infrared detectors, access control card readers, network switches, fiber optic routers, etc.
Ability to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed
The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance
Previous experience with the DOE Electronic Safeguards and Security System (E3S) and Argus preferred
Experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) preferred
