[Planner] Technical Planner/Analyst (Work Planner) - LANL - 6827

Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Technical Planner/Analyst (Work Planner) opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos Legacy Waste Cleanup Project.

Work Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico at the TA-54 CH-TRU or any area required

SCOPE
The Technical Planner/Analyst will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task including necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.

SPECIFIC TASKS
Assures safety and security compliance, maintains required safety and security training and makes safety and security an integral part of every task.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) policies and procedures in complex facilities.
Prepares, reviews and issues equipment and/or system modification, corrective maintenance and/or preventative maintenance work packages for unique and/or complex activities in complex facilities in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
Prepares detailed specifications for materials and labor estimates for complex activities.
Reviews changes in scope to active work packages and oversees the revision of the work package.
Lead in developing step-by-step instructions for work for complex activities.
Manages various functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control work package development including, but not limited to documentation generation, records management, database information management retrieval and review and/or training.
Develop work documents in accordance with N3B Integrated Work Control Process.
Interface with all stake holders, ensuring that applicable Subject Mater Experts are involved in the development of work packages.
Perform Job Hazard Analysis’s to ensure all work can be performed with safety as the primary value.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
Extensive knowledge of work planning processes.
Extensive knowledge of facility operating practices and procedures.
Must have expert knowledge in work hazards, safety practices, and operating configurations in a nuclear environment.
Experience working in a team environment with a strong safety culture (e.g. ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and interact effectively and amicably with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures).
Work experience in a quality-oriented environment requiring a high degree of attention to detail.
Ability to establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules.
Expert knowledge of the theory, principles and techniques of the planning and development process.
In-depth understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) policies and procedures.
Demonstrated expertise with a computerized work management system such as Devonway, Primavera-P6, Confluence and Jira etc.
Demonstrated experience and skill in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions and determining action to be performed on problems affecting the maintenance program.
In-depth understanding and ability to interpret various complex mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings and schematics.
Ability to challenge individuals to develop skill outside of their comfort zone. Identify and develop successor to key roles.
Deal directly with internal discipline to resolve problems and provide solutions.
Demonstrated extensive experience providing high quality customer service efficiently.
Excellent communication skills.
Must have the ability to pass and maintain all qualifications as required by the Department of Energy (DOE) Order 426.2, and N3B required trainings.
Effective interpersonal skills (e.g., ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, work/interact effectively and amicably with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures)
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey thoughts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree with 2 – 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
