Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an I & C Engineer position at the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

I & C Engineer-
Job Duties:

The I & C Engineer will provide support engineering services to include, but not limited to, engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents. Design output documents consist of P&IDs, control logics, loop diagrams, setpoint lists, instrument and control valve specifications, DCS and PLC design, instrument location and installation design, panel layouts, and vendor document review.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to the electrical discipline, such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, grounding, lightning protection, and fire detection systems.
Establish an electrical design/field engineering working relationship and lines of communication with the engineering team, including agreement on electrical engineering deliverables and overall configuration management.
Review design output documents.
Prepare or assist with preparation of DCNs.
Coordinate with the Procurement Organization for field procured materials, material substitution, services, and equipment.

Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering

Experience/Skills:
Minimum of five (5) years design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry.
Design experience with PLCs and distributed control systems.
Must be physically capable of performing walk-down of systems in the field which may include use personal protection equipment (e.g., Level B PPE)

Preferred Qualifications:
Design Authority
2D MicroStation computer-aided drafting and design (CADD).
Ten (10) years of I&C engineering experience.
Experience with liquid waste or vitrification systems.
Current registration as a Professional Engineer.


Other Job Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
