Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences required for entry into this job include the following:
5+ years of relevant engineering experience,
Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles,
Skilled in use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines,
In depth knowledge of pipeline corrosion mechanisms, corrosion prevention/control best practices, and cathodic protection design and troubleshooting,
Experience with in-situ pipeline non-destructive examination including, corrosion profiling, magnetic particle inspection, defect assessment, and remaining strength/fitness-for-service calculation and processes (ASME B31G/RSTRENG or equivalent)
Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing),
Strong personal computer skills,
Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems,
Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices,
In depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate personal computer applications and perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.);
Equally effective working independently or in team environment,
Proven decision-making skills,
Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks,
Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
AMPP/NACE CP2 (Cathodic Protection Technician) required.
PE License preferred.

High Level Project Overview:
The candidate will fill a position as an Electrical Engineer for the Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Program. This project is a 10+ year effort to upgrade systems throughout the power plant to ensure the long term reliability of the Power Station. This role works with a cross-functional team of station stakeholders, project leads, and project managers to evaluate modifications to the plant design. Responsibilities include,
Reviewing and/or preparing engineering products (e.g., Design / Engineering Change packages, Specifications, Calculations, Technical Evaluations.)
Providing a high level of understanding in the area of Cathodic Protection.
Overseeing contracted engineering work and ensuring consistency and compliance with Dominion Energy and industry standards.
Interfacing with the primary equipment supplier and project stakeholders to support technical reviews and input.
Analyzing engineering risk and failure modes and incorporating mitigating strategies in the designs.
Reporting and presenting status to engineering team lead, project managers, and management team on a periodic basis.
Supporting construction / implementation phase (e.g., design updates, field change evaluations, resolution of technical issues).

Preferred Years of Experience:
5+ years of relevant engineering experience,

Education:
Education Level Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program, Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
