Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in Los Alamos, NM.

OVERVIEW:

In this role, engineers will perform engineering studies including short circuit, device coordination, equipment sizing, exterior lighting, fault current, and arc flash for both medium and low voltage equipment. Electrical Engineers in this position will work alongside senior engineers (e.g., fire protection, structural, mechanical, and electrical) and others in team settings to complete collaborative full-system design solutions through mentoring, calculations, and leadership.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

BS degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
9+ years of related Electrical Engineering experience in Nuclear facility.
Ability to obtain Q Clearance.
Knowledge of nuclear facility engineering in one or more of the following, nuclear criticality safety analysis, safety basis, system engineer, project engineer, or design engineer.
Knowledge of nuclear facility engineering work planning and control methods.
Advanced knowledge of new and existing non-reactor facility electrical engineering systems and calculations, applications of engineering methods, and application of computer-aided engineering tools to solve operations-based engineering problems.
Knowledge of engineering work, planning, construction, and control methods.
Knowledge of industry, regulatory, or national codes and standards including IBC, NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E.
Knowledge of Engineering principles and procedures, design guides, appropriate standards, and administrative practices.
Knowledge of project and process engineering practices.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of engineering maintenance techniques and construction methodologies.
Knowledge in Instrumentations and Controls-related designs.
Current registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and/or Professional Engineering certification.

This is an onsite position in Los Alamos, NM.
