Work Location: Chattanooga TN, Wilmington NC, or at the CRN site. (Work will be conducted remotely. Occasional travel will be required to support meetings and other consulting work which are commonly held in Chattanooga TN, Wilmington NC, or at the CRN site.
Pay Range: $53.35 - $66.68

Additional Job Details: Statement of Work The Clinch River Nuclear (CRN) project requires engineering support in the Mechanical Systems Engineering Team (3 openings). In this role, the following scope of activities will be performed: Perform owners acceptance reviews of contractor technical efforts to develop the CRN design and construction permit application to ensure compliance with established criteria, sound engineering principles, and professional practices. Identify omissions, discrepancies, inadequacies, and nonconformance with approved criteria. Coordinate system design oversight with multiple organizations (internal and external) and disciplines to ensure quality, completeness, and safety of the design. Communicate status of work activities and brief management on technical issues, options for resolution, and facilitate decision making. Provide expert technical advice and consultation in the field of mechanical system design to a multidisciplinary group of professional and technical personnel engaged in carrying out the CRN project. Be responsible for making critical assessments and decisions as to the nature of technical problems, program requirements, and risks encountered in the development of the CRN design. This work requires comprehensive, professional knowledge of several disciplines of engineering. Consult with engineers in other organizations and disciplines to assist in identification and resolution of conflicts and recommend corrective action to prevent delays and facilitate completion of work. Participate in meetings as required, including the preparation of meeting minutes as needed. As requested, support the development of project infrastructure including procedures, schedule, and cost estimates. Desired Experience Minimum of 10 years working in design engineering, related field for operating nuclear power plants, or other nuclear facilities in one or more of the following subjects: o BWR NSSS Engineering, o Steam Conversion Cycle Engineering, o Nuclear HVAC System Engineering, or o Radioactive Waste Processing. Demonstrated expertise in engineering discipline. Proactive and agile skills working and collaborating in multi-disciplinary environment. Strong coordination and communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office Suite. Work Locations Work will be conducted remotely.
Occasional travel will be required to support meetings and other consulting work which are commonly held in Chattanooga TN, Wilmington NC, or at the CRN site. Travel cost(s) will be reimbursable.


Mechanical position needed for new nuclear during the early stages.
