Export Control Officer - Urenco - 8036

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Export Control Officer opportunity in Eunice, NM at the Urenco USA (UUSA) National Enrichment Facility.

Work Location: On-Site at Urenco
Citizenship: United States Citizenship is required.

UUSA, operated by Louisiana Energy Services LLC, is the only commercial enrichment facility operating in the US, and is located in Eunice, New Mexico.

The role of the Export Control Officer is to apply for and manage Export Control licenses for UUSA projects and advise the UTD project members on all export control matters, to ensure all UUSA projects are complying with the required USA export regulations.

Duties:
Report formally to the Export Control Manager UTD.
Report and align day to day business with the UUSA Export Control Licensing team.
Work directly in the management system of UUSA.
Prepare and apply for new export license applications for UUSA projects to ensure Urenco complies with the required USA export regulations.
Prepare and submit timely renewal of Export Control Licenses.
Ensure compliance with USA License reporting requirements.
Work actively together with the Export Control teams within UTD on all sites.
Map and implement project export control instructions and procedures.
Provide direct project support, advice, and guidance to the project teams.
Propose changes as to internal export control policies and procedures to the Export Control Licensing Team of UUSA.
Report on export control related to KPI’s to the Export Control Manager UTD.
Assist in the provision of export control training and advice to (new) employees of UTD UUSA.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, regulatory affairs -or- technical degree or relevant qualifications -or - minimum of 5 years of related work experience can be supplemented instead of a bachelor’s degree.
Education in Logistics, Import / Export.
Knowledge of interpreting export control lists and licenses.
Knowledge of Dual-Use preferred.
Must have knowledge of applicable regulations and understand the regulatory process.
Experience - 5-9 Years of direct work experience at a nuclear facility is preferred.
Traveling can be required.

Experience:
Experience in dealing with export licenses and regulatory bodies.
Familiar with export control license applications within USA is desirable.
Experience of working within the energy or nuclear sector is desirable.
Ability to read technical diagrams and drawings is desirable.
Self-motivated and driven to manage and complete assignments.
Masters the English language.

Competencies:
Microsoft Office skills.
Communicates import/export expectations clearly
Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure against tight deadlines, whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate confidently within the export control team.
Good team player who can also work independently, takes ownership and direct responsibility for own work.
Professional and enthusiastic with good self-awareness.
Ability to provide training to groups on all levels.
Must have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, supports teamwork.
Good administrative and organizational skills.
Going beyond the data, uses experience and knowledge to translate incomplete or uncertain information/data to useful insights.
High analytical skills.
