REMOTE - STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (entry- mid level)
Type- Contract
Duration- 6 months plus
Pay- $$25- $45 hr

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, technical specifications, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, detailed analyses, and other materials suitable for review by a supervisor or other lead engineer.

• Develop an in-depth knowledge of FAA and industry standard requirements, codes, and standards.

• Assist in the development of survey reports and make recommendations based upon information gathered during the site survey and professional judgment.

• Travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations to inspect various facets of work.

• Assist in the development of construction cost estimates.

• Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and Engineers working on the same project.

• Review supplier drawing submittals, respond to field requests for information and perform technical bid analyses

• Implement TSSC Safety and Quality programs into design work.

• Assist in the preparation of tower condition reports based on data from site surveys by others

• Prepare tower structural analysis using TNX Tower modeling software.

• Make engineering recommendations for tower sustainment and service life extension efforts.

• Provide estimates for tower repair and replacement projects.

• Occasionally required to visit tower sites, climb and assess conditions, and prepare tower condition and analysis reports


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degreed Structural engineer from an ABET accredited program with 2 to 5 years of experience after graduation. NCEES or other third party validation of ABET equivalency may be acceptable.

• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred but not a deal breaker. Should be able to obtain in the future.

• Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization to find mutually beneficial solutions.

• Ability to plan and manage multiple simultaneous projects and work activities in accordance with cost, schedule and technical baselines.

• Proficient in AutoCAD

• Tower design experience preferred.

• Tower climbing experience required or willingness to be trained to climb. Tower climbing is not required for AGL-0026. But will be an asset if willing to work on other work releases. System One employees are NOT required to climb while employed to System One.


DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES ON AGL-0026 WORK RELEASE

AGL-0026 UIS Tower Assessment involves assessing the tower for fall protection violations, checking plumb and twist, and a full assessment of the tower to determine what recommendation are required to improve it.

1) Collaborate with field staff.

2) Review reports provided by the field technicians. Revise reports as needed, make engineering recommendations on how to improve the towers.

3) At the next stage of the work release, Tower analysis and retrofit design may be required using tnxTower software. Material takeoff for designs.

4) Interact with team members in weekly meetings
