Duties and Responsibilities
Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks to SRNS. Structural engineering tasks include: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs; design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures; foundation and anchorage design; structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions; preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents.
Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.
Education
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience/Skills
•Minimum of 10 years experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
•Working knowledge of STAAD.
•Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA.
•Ability to perform field walk-downs.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance.
•Experience with 2D Microstation CADD. (Preferred)
•Previous SRS Design Engineering Experience. (Preferred)
