Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Scheduler opportunity in Carlsbad, NM at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).

Per diem is available for those who qualify.
Work Location: On-Site at WIPP
Citizenship: United States Citizenship Required

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.

Job Description:
Provide support to the WIPP projects in the development, analysis, and control of project schedules in support of program goals and objectives. Provide assistance in the development and maintenance of integrated, resource loaded schedules utilizing fundamental critical path method techniques within an earned value management system. Provide direct assistance in developing and maintaining for multiple departments.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

Day to day utilization of Primavera P-6 to perform schedule development and schedule studies within a network environment
Develop ad hoc reports and scenarios to support program objectives
Analyze schedule data for baseline change control, variance analysis, horizontal and vertical coordination, and integration of schedule logic
Align baseline activities with daily implementation activities
Coordinate changes to project baseline cost and schedule documents.
Analyze a variety of cost and schedule information and resolve related problems.
Meet with on-site technical experts, review existing documentation, and interface with personnel to gain the specific information needed to establish, status and analyze project schedules.
Coach and lead on-site technical experts, as necessary, to gain the required information for project schedules.
Provide written and oral information to others in work group and assigned work units in other departments. Make formal presentations to small groups in own and other departments.
Effectively coach and mentor others on EVMS principles, including report layouts, calendars for routine deliverables, and procedures or desk top guides on scheduling processes

Qualifications:
Understanding of planning and control principles, techniques and prescribed system criteria.
5-20+ years of experience in the development and maintenance of integrated resource loaded schedules wherein the skills and abilities to perform the position’s duties and accountabilities have been adequately demonstrated
5-20+ years of demonstrated experience utilizing Primavera with extensive experience utilizing Primavera P6
Desired experience in a DOE operational/project environment
Desired experience using Earned Value Management systems within the DOE complex in accordance with DOE Order 413.3B, Program and Project Management for the Acquisition of Capital Assets and EIA-748, Earned Value Management Systems
Desired experience in the development and maintenance of integrated resource loaded schedules for operational readiness activities
Desired experience in the development and maintenance of integrated resource loaded schedules for capital asset and general plant projects
Experience leading/directing Plan of the Day/Week/Month meetings
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and COBRA software preferred
Previous WIPP experience is a plus
