Job Description/Duties:

•Set-up, operate, and repair a variety of machine tools/equipment (i.e., resharpen drills, assess damaged parts, special cuttings, jigs, fixtures, etc.).
•Cut and grind metal and similar materials into parts or products using precise dimensions.
•Interpret and understand specifications, blueprints, and sketches.
•Verify and determine dimensions, alignment, tolerances, and sequence of operations for tools, equipment, and machines for normal to heavy operations.
•Repair turbine rotors, journals, seals, diaphragms, bearings, pump valves, etc.

Qualifications/Required Skills:

•2 years of experience in the nuclear, oil, Navy shipyard, or military field OR 2 years technical training as a machinist.
•3 years of experience as a Machinist in an industrial environment.
•Lathe, CNC, and Mill experience required.
•Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
•Pass a nuclear background check and drug screening.
•High School diploma or GED.
