We are currently seeking a qualified Civil Design Engineer to join our client's team at an operational nuclear power plant located in the beautiful Southeastern region of the United States. This role offers the unique opportunity to work in an environment where the weather is consistently pleasant, and stunning beaches are a short day-trip away. As a Civil Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our client's facility through your expertise in design verification, walkdowns, and preparation of circulation materials.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct walkdowns to gather generating design inputs and assess the structural integrity of various components within the nuclear power plant.
• Perform design verification to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal requirements.
• Prepare circulation materials and documentation related to structural design, including support loading beams, welds, and anchors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to incorporate design changes and improvements.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-001) and ensure its adherence throughout the design phases.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

• Proficiency in structural design principles and analysis techniques.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to civil engineering in nuclear facilities.
• Experience with walkdowns, design verification, and circulation preparation.
• Familiarity with the Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-001) is required.
• Professional Engineering (PE) certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
