Opportunity Overview: Field Service Engineer - 12-18 Month Contract WECTEC Staffing/Westinghouse has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer. The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the planning and field implementation of work related to Reactor Component Upgrades Project Execution and Delivery. This position will be based at our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. If you are looking to grow your career in engineering, this opportunity is for you! What your day-to-day looks like:

  • Work with the team of engineers and project managers on a variety of technical/mechanical engineering projects.
  • Work will include repairs and extensions of reactor internals and head packages.
  • Physical manipulation of underwater objects with precision & skill.
  • Involved in equipment design, qualifying equipment, and writing procedures.
  • Travel to customer sites around the world to service the reactor components.
  • Leading a crew at customer sites as shift supervisor
  • Strong skills & knowledge in mechanical engineering/mechanical aptitude is preferred.
What we need to see from you:
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Applicable disciplines are Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
  • 1-3+ years of relevant or similar work experience is preferred
  • Knowledge or familiarity with Reactor Component Upgrades
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Willingness & ability to promptly report issues.
  • Open, candid, and honest approach in day-to-day work
  • Capable of assuming increased responsibility with training/experience
Skills/Competencies required:
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Strategic Thinking & Driving for Results
  • Planning and Organization
  • Teamwork, along with employee development / mentoring
  • Some technical knowledge of nuclear power plants.
  • Familiarity with utility business practices including knowledge of utility operations, maintenance and engineering practices, knowledge of procurement processes and material management are preferred but not required.
