The EHS Director will be responsible for leading, generating and driving the EHS strategy of the organization. Responsible for driving safety improvements, managing and leading the EHS policies within a Nuclear licensed and top tier COMAH site. Legally accountable to the SFL Board as a director for EH&S. Lead and implement ESG strategy aligned to corporate and SFL license company expectations. Deliver strong compliance and relationships with regulating bodies, including the Office of Nuclear Regulation and the Environment Agency. This role reports to the SVP and Managing Director of our Springfields site and will work a mobile/hybrid schedule. Your Day to Day:

  • Broad based accountabilities with multi-region/global reach to deliver key business and strategic imperatives
  • Educating internal business teams on best fit solutions and protecting Westinghouse interests
  • Responsible for the effective operations of the team, and ensures standards of quality (including effective management of the corrective action program), cost (including utilization of resources to meet assigned targets), safety (both ensuring a NSCWE as well as personnel and industrial safety), reliability, timeliness and performance are met in production processes
  • Responsible for all aspect of personnel development and management, in close cooperation with the technical leader(s) in the team
  • Typically manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments
  • Responsibilities typically include policy and strategy implementation for medium term in the specific area of assignment
  • Responsibilities typically include critical delivery aspects in support of company short to mid-term success, with clear responsibility for revenue and margin growth, and/or introduction and delivery of new products or services with significant EBITDA implications
  • Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex
  • Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with an MBA preferred.
  • 15 years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience in the Nuclear Industry- customer site, ONR, or another licensed site preferred.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
  • Experience in change management efforts.
  • Experience in capital planning and prioritization
  • Technical expertise and leadership in EHS.
  • Expertise and demonstrated knowledge of working with regulators, policies, and processes.
