Customer Solutions Director, CANDU Engineering & Tooling - Location can be in Burlington, Peterborough or Kitchener, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid) About the Opportunity Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada. The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions. Lead Operations and Field Services (OFS) and Engineered Solutions (ES) services and products related to CANDU reactor technology under Westinghouse Canada's Operating Plant Services (OPS) business. Focus on growth strategies to increase market share and better position WEC in the Canadian nuclear market. Manage a team of Customer Solutions Managers responsible for growing market share in their respective product lines and meeting operating plant customer needs with differentiated and competitive offerings. This includes technical solution selection, appropriate costing and pricing, effective risk management planning and overall bid quality. This role reports to the Vice-President, Canada Operating Plant Services. It is a bona fide job requirement to be eligible and authorized to travel to the U.S. on Westinghouse business, and such travel is subject to the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as compliance with all applicable U.S. export laws and regulations. No relocation assistance is available for this position. What will you do?Your day to day:

  • Responsible for the development and leadership of the CANDU product roadmaps in the areas of engineered solutions and field services.
  • Technical oversight of all offers within OFS and ES portfolio including supervision of appropriate cost and pricing estimates in collaboration with sales, engineering and support teams. Focus on achieving target margins, while ensuring adequate execution strategy and risk management
  • Interface with and identify evolving customer needs to help generate future demand for OPS engaging with clients at the right leadership levels
  • Ensure compliance to local regulatory CANDU requirements for all BU segments
  • Oversee team's preparation of monthly demand reports based on project pipeline to ensure proper resource allocation
  • Support project escalation challenges in collaboration with project managers and account team
  • Champion continuous improvement and organizational learning across team
  • Collaborate with Project Management teams to understand status of project(s) to inform future customer interactions on products and business development
  • Contribute and collaborate with OPS product strategy by sharing pulse of the customer to develop appropriate product strategies
  • Support Commercial Sales and Global Markets with technical expertise throughout the contract negotiation process
  • Drive a one Westinghouse approach collaborating with leaders across the organization in engineering, manufacturing, sales and support functions.
What will you bring?Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline. Higher education an asset.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a technical nuclear field and 8+ years in a technical leadership position
  • P.Eng. required
  • Knowledge of Canadian quality standards (N299, N285 etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of CANDU technology
