Nuclear Licensing Engineer
Location: Covert, Michigan
Pay range: $65-$80 an hour or more based off experience
Per diem will be offered
Length: June 2024-Aug 2025

We are looking for a Nuclear Licensing Engineer to be on site at Palisades Nuclear Plant in Covert Michigan. This is a contract position with a tentative start date for June 3, 2024 through August of 2025. The position will include per diem.

Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)
*Provide regulatory support to update and maintain the Palisades safety analysis report (SAR)
Provide regulatory support to evaluate, track, and drive past and future commitments to closure as appropriate
*Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documents.
*Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.
*Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project.
*Provide technical and regulatory support as needed in preparation for or during NRC audits and inspections.

Required Qualifications / skills
*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university AND 7+ years of experience in the nuclear industry.
*Minimum 4 years of regulatory experience in the nuclear industry.
*Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processes.
*Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design, and operations.
*Ability to represent clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops.
*Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making.
*Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product.
*Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.
*Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader.
*Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry
