Job Title: Project Manager II - Nuclear Projects

Location: Richland, WA

Duration: 12 Months

Description:

The Project Manager II will manage projects and programs typically valued at less than $10M, including planning, scheduling, and controlling activities independently. The role involves leading project teams of over ten people and handling complex multidiscipline projects where strong leadership is essential. The Project Manager II will set priorities within projects, direct the activities of project teams, and maintain a broad knowledge of new technologies and industry trends. Responsibilities include:

Monitoring and recommending improvements to project management processes.
Managing project budgets and coordinating closely with the finance organization and project controls group.
Providing oversight of staff involved in planning, leading, controlling, and monitoring to ensure work is implemented safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget.
Developing budgets, tracking costs versus budget, and ensuring proper progress through frequent interface with clients, engineers, and management.
Managing contracts and interfacing with vendors.
Preparing and delivering written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.
Supporting effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work.
Oversee project implementation, including budget management, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety, clearance order preparation, work prioritization, resource loading, risk management, and work execution.
Develop and manage project schedules to manage risk, track progress, enforce accountability, and manage critical path and float.
Provide leadership in project management and mentor other project managers.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer design requirements.
Coordinate resources and collaborate with other project and line managers.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university, and fourteen years of experience in a technical field; OR an AA/AS degree and sixteen years of experience in a technical field; OR a High School Diploma or GED and eighteen years of experience in a technical field.
Advanced degree in a related field of study or business may be accepted in lieu of two years of experience.
Project Management certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in a related field of study or business.
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field from an accredited college or university.
RO/SRO License or CGS Management Certification.
Construction Management Certification.
Extensive experience in the role of direct supervisor or project manager in the commercial nuclear industry, focused on maintenance, operations, engineering, or construction.
Experience with nuclear plant operator production coordination, work management, error reduction, and human performance improvement methods.
Experience managing complex projects, on-line work management, or refueling and forced outage-related activities.
Advanced project management techniques at commercial nuclear power plants or similar facilities.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Previous ISFSI and/or Security project experience is preferred.
Member of an industry committee or lead internal audit or assessment.
Proficient in project management and budget process software.
Evaluating organizational, personal, technical, and effective maintenance programs, procedures, schedules, and cost performance.
Knowledge of codes and regulatory requirements as they relate to operations, construction, maintenance, engineering, and project work activities.
Skilled in software programs such as Passport and MS Office.
Diverse assignment experience, with a minimum one-year job duration to qualify as a diverse assignment, is preferred.
